Jointly with the Organization called Un Techo para mi País, our company Maestro Ace Home Center will help in the construction of houses to families in extreme poverty through the donation of materials to make real the dream of many dwellers in our city.
What is "Un Techo para mi País"?
Un Techo para mi País is a Latin American institution led by university students with the purpose to commit the whole society with the reality lived by millions of families in Latin America through the construction of emergency homes and the execution of social fitting out plans.
We envisage Latin America without extreme poverty, where no family will need a minimum home and where they will all have the possibilities to improve the quality of their lives.
As of today more than 27,000 homes have been built in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, El Salvador, Mexico and Costa Rica; and it is expected to reach 30,000 homes by the end of 2006.Under the premise that the tool to achieve this is commitment, we try to generate awareness through active and joint participation of volunteers, dwellers, enterprises and media.
Un Techo para mi País seeks to generate alliances that may allow the creation of mutual benefit relationships. The company supports the project and, therefore, the development of the poorest families. Also, it encourages social responsibility and commitment with the company's vision and values; thus contributing to consolidate in Peru a project that has had great success in all the Latin American countries where it has been implemented.
More than 100 houses have already been built, and the next project shall be carried out in January 2007, with the construction of 100 more houses.
